What is Asian Handicap?
A two-way handicap market that eliminates the draw and often uses quarter-goal lines.
Definition
Asian Handicap (AH) removes the draw outcome from football betting, leaving just two prices. Half-lines (-0.5, -1.5) cannot push. Quarter-lines (-0.25, -0.75, -1.25) split your stake across two whole/half lines, allowing half-win and half-loss outcomes. AH offers tighter margins than 1X2 — typically 1-3% on Pinnacle vs 5-7% on soft books — making it the most efficient football market for serious bettors.
Example
Pinnacle prices Argentina -0.75 AH vs Mexico at 1.95. A 2-0 Argentina win = full win; a 1-0 Argentina win = half win, half stake refunded.
