What is Total?
A market on the combined score of both teams, set by the bookmaker.
Definition
The total (also called 'totals' or O/U) is a posted line representing the bookmaker's projection of combined points or goals. You bet whether the actual total will be Over or Under that line. In NFL the total might be 47.5 points; in football, 2.5 goals is the most common total. Half-lines avoid pushes; integer totals (e.g. 3.0 in football) push if the actual total lands exactly on the line.
Example
France vs Germany Total 2.5 goals at 1.85 Over / 1.95 Under. A 1-1 final score (2 total) settles Under as winner.
