What is Over / Under?
The two sides of a totals market — Over backs more goals/points, Under backs fewer.
Definition
Over/Under (O/U) is the standard naming for total-line markets. 'Over 2.5 goals' wins on 3+ goals; 'Under 2.5 goals' wins on 0, 1 or 2 goals. The 2.5 line is the workhorse of football betting because it cuts the historical scoring distribution roughly in half. Other common football lines: 1.5 (favourites), 3.5 (open games). Always lock in the line at placement — half-line moves matter.
Example
Brazil vs Spain Over 2.5 at 1.75. Final 2-1 = 3 goals = Over wins, $100 → $175.
