    What is Handicap?

Any market that gives one side a virtual advantage or disadvantage to balance the odds.

    Definition

A handicap market starts the game with a virtual scoreline (e.g. -1, +2). The favourite must overcome the handicap; the underdog only needs to draw the handicapped match. In football, three handicap variants exist: European Handicap (3-way: -1/draw/+1), Asian Handicap (2-way, no draw possibility, often half-line), and quarter handicaps (-0.25, -0.75) that split your stake across two lines.

    Example

Brazil -1 European Handicap vs Mexico means Brazil must win by 2+. A 1-0 Brazil win settles as a draw on the handicap.
