What is Prop Bet?
A wager on an event within a game that doesn't directly affect the match outcome.
Definition
Proposition (prop) bets cover specific occurrences within a match: a player to score, a card to be shown, a corner total, the first throw-in winner. Player props are the largest sub-category. Margins are wide (10-20%) because liquidity is thinner than core markets, but prop pricing is also where soft books make the most pricing errors — sharp bettors find +EV by line-shopping props across DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM and Caesars.
Example
Bukayo Saka 2+ shots on target at 2.10 vs the same prop at 1.85 elsewhere — that 0.25 difference is real EV if both books take your action.
